KAKURENBO.
You may have seen this interesting
new anime movie on Cartoon Network, keep reading
for info that Cartoon Network didn't tell us.
This is one of the second short movies I have seen that
really fascinated me. Hide And Seek, Kids will disappear. I
didn't actually get to see it on Cartoon Network, I
had to record it on video tape and watched it the next
day. The picture quality of EP video tape is horrible so I
was kinda interested in what it would look like in better
quality. I ended up going to Central Park Media's
site looking for info from a promo I saw on AleinNine,
and I found out that they were the distributers of KAKURENBO
and that it was available on DVD. This instantly put it on
my to get list, and when I was passing buy Suncoast
I didn't have any money for any $30 disks so I looked for
something cheaper, remembering that U.S. Manga
videos are cheaper I searched for KAKURENBO and
found it fairly quickly. I have seen it 3 times in
English and 2 times in Japanese.
English: They did a really good job at
translating the show, and keeping it interesting. Cartoon
Network left out all the picture subtitling though as
for what the signs said and things. I would have liked
more of the words in the pictures translated, but they
only did the minimum on the DVD.
Japanese: The Japanese was much better
than the English but I wouldn't suggest the Japanese if
you don't like to read subtitles or if you don't know
Japanese well. Two interesting things. . . . One, in the
Japanese the main character is the voice of Naruto from Naruto, and Two, in
the subtitles they mention that Oni means Demon in
Japanese but when playing the game of Tag Oni means
"it". So at the end when the kid says
"Your the demon" he's also saying "Your
it" and when the Demon says "Your it" to
the kid it is also saying "Your the demon".
Knowing that made it much cooler.
Reasons to buy it on DVD even though you have
seen it all on Cartoon Network
1. You can see it in Japanese
2. It's in Wide screen, Cartoon Network cut down
the picture.
3. The signs are subtitled in English and in Japanese.
4. The 50 minutes of bonus video and behind the scenes.

Someone
said I needed to do some reviews on some newer anime so
here we go
King
Of Bandits Jing In Seventh Heaven.
As far as I know this is only a 3
episode OVA, if you like Jing then download the torrent
and go to Anime Keep and get the AC3 codec.
This series definitely meets up with the first series, I
missed the original Kir Royal song but everything was
great. The music fit so well. If you don't do drugs but
want to know what it's like to be on drugs, make sure to
check this out and the original King Of Bandit Jing.
He Can Steal your heart, he can steal your time,
and now he can steal your dreams.
" (1)The First and foremost important thing to
remember is. Never land yourself here twice (2), or run
out of your rations thrice (3), for you are surrounded on
four sides (4), by guards whose rounds take less than
five (5), all in a place not fit for six (6), much less
it's name of Seventh Heaven. (7)"
